The honest comparison

newslet vs. OutboundEngine

OutboundEngine pioneered done-for-you marketing for exactly the businesses we serve — and proved people will pay hundreds a month to never face a blank page. It now runs as part of Elm Street Technology. If you're comparing, or your renewal date is coming up, here are the verified facts side by side; every OutboundEngine claim comes from their own pricing page and public records as of July 2026.

The 3-step migration

  1. 1

    Export your contacts first

Download your list from OutboundEngine before your renewal date — it's your list, and the twelve-month clock is the one thing you can't undo later.

  2. 2

    Read your free issue

Paste your website into newslet and read this week's issue for your business — no card, no commitment, while your current contract still runs.

  3. 3

Import with consent, pick your day

Upload the CSV, confirm your contacts opted in, choose your weekly slot. Your first real send can go out the same week.

Fair questions

As of July 2026, outboundengine.com publishes three tiers: Essential at $199/mo (500 contacts), Value at $299/mo (3,000 contacts), and Premium at $499/mo (10,000 contacts) — and their pricing FAQ states all plans require a twelve-month commitment before going month-to-month. newslet is $69–149/mo, month to month from the first day.
The website actively sells those three plans and operates as part of Elm Street Technology, which acquired the company in September 2021. Separately, the BBB profile for the original Austin entity is Not Rated and notes that, per BBB files, that business entity appears to no longer be in business. If you're a current customer, the practical takeaway is simpler: know your contract's renewal date.
Capterra shows 4.4/5 across 45 reviews, with the most recent dated February 2023. The recurring complaint theme is the contract: one reviewer wrote "Once you join and try to cancel then you suddenly are told you have a yearly service," another that they were "stuck using them even though the service is terrible." Plenty of reviewers also praise the set-and-forget convenience — the model works when the content works for you.
Three steps: export your contacts from OutboundEngine before your renewal date; paste your website into newslet and read your first issue free; then import your list with the consent confirmation and pick your schedule. There's no contract on our side, so you can run the free issue while still under theirs and decide with both in hand.

Done-for-you, without the twelve months.

Keep the convenience, drop the contract — and see the writing before you spend a dollar.
